My TBR shelf #5

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.

Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king's council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she'll serve the kingdom for four years and then be granted her freedom. Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilarating. But she's bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her... but it's the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.

Then one of the other contestants turns up dead... quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined. (source: goodreads)

I'm maybe gonna start this after I'm done with "Delirium" by Lauren Oliver. I only heard good things about the whole series, but I hope there's some romance between all the killing and action! I also read " A Court of Thorns and Roses " by Sarah and I absolutely loved it!
Still, I'm very excited to read it and now I feel bad for having it on my shelf, thanks. I still love you guys!

" Lola and the Boy Next Door " by Stephanie Perkins

“People should say what they mean and not make other people stumble around.”

Lola Nolan is a budding costume designer, and for her, the more outrageous, sparkly, and fun the outfit, the better. And everything is pretty perfect in her life (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood. When Cricket, a gifted inventor, steps out from his twin sister's shadow and back into Lola's life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door. (source: goodreads)

This is the second book in the " Anna and the French kiss " series. The series isn't always withe the same characters, but the characters always come back again. In this book the major characters are Lola and Cricket, but Lola works with Anna at the movie theater ( she's the major character in book #1 ). And we all know, where Anna is, Étienne isn't far away.
This is one thing I love about Stephanie Perkins books: the characters you will miss come back.
Lola Nolan is me in extreme. I think, this quote she says“I don't believe in fashion. I believe in costume. Life is too short to be same person every day ”, is what every girl should know.
Lola's very wild and colorful and doesn't care about other peoples opinions on her looks and I envy her for that. And omg Cricket is like the cutest thing ever. Buying strange clothes, like too short trousers just too show off his socks? Brilliant!
He and Lola are perfect for each other, just like Anna and Étienne are (#otp )!
And the end was my dream date: Prom with an awesome dress, dream boy next to you, who makes you beautiful presents and standing out from the crowd.

I highly recommend the whole series. Like the first book, "Lola and the Boy Next Door" is a feel good book and a easy read. The characters Stephanie creates are extraordinary and you just want to be in their group of friends. Read them, love them and feel awesome!

" Shatter Me " by Tahereh Mafi

“I'm oxygen and he's dying to breathe.”

I have a curse
I have a gift

I am a monster
I'm more than human

My touch is lethal
My touch is power

I am their weapon
I will fight back

Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

This. Book. Has. The. Most. Beautiful. Quotes. I've. Ever. Read. And I have read a lot of book trust me.
And the whole story is heartbreakingly beautiful. The whole book is just beautiful. It's holy and gorgeus and I just envy it.
Juliette is so strong and beautiful, inside and out. I really love how Adam describes her as good. Like he loves Juliette because she's so good to others and doesn't expect anything in return. I really would love to be like that sometimes.
Adam's brother is such  cute thing you just have to love him and I can tell you, I do, with everything i have.
The way Tahereh describes our surroundings is magical and a art. For example my favourite quote from this book is about raindrops. You don't really think about them, but they're so interesting if you get how she sees them: "I always wonder about raindrops.

I wonder about how they're always falling down, tripping over their own feet, breaking their legs and forgetting their parachutes as they tumble right out of the sky toward an uncertain end. It's like someone is emptying their pockets over the earth and doesn't seem to care where the contents fall, doesn't seem to care that the raindrops burst when they hit the ground, that they shatter when they fall to the floor, that people curse the days the drops dare to tap on their doors.

I am a raindrop." and "Raindrops are my only reminder that clouds have a heartbeat. That I have one, too."

Other quotes I really like are: "The moon is a loyal companion.
It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it’s a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human.
Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections."

"His eyes are two buckets of rainwater: deep, fresh, clear. Hurt."

But beware if you haven't read it yet, there could be some spoilers!

Just read this book and get drawn into the magic and beauty.

Love,

My TBR shelf #4

" Blythewood " by Carol Goodman

Welcome to Blythewood.

At seventeen, Avaline Hall has already buried her mother, survived a horrific factory fire, and escaped from an insane asylum. Now she’s on her way to Blythewood Academy, the elite boarding school in New York’s mist-shrouded Hudson Valley that her mother attended—and was expelled from. Though she’s afraid her high society classmates won’t accept a factory girl in their midst, Ava is desperate to unravel her family’s murky past, discover the identity of the father she’s never known, and perhaps finally understand her mother’s abrupt suicide. She’s also on the hunt for the identity of the mysterious boy who rescued her from the fire. And she suspects the answers she seeks lie at Blythewood.

But nothing could have prepared her for the dark secret of what Blythewood is, and what its students are being trained to do. Haunted by dreams of a winged boy and pursued by visions of a sinister man who breathes smoke, Ava isn’t sure if she’s losing her mind or getting closer to the truth. And the more rigorously Ava digs into the past, the more dangerous her present becomes.    (source: goodreads)

This was one of the first books I wanted to buy since I am a fangirl and now it finally came with the mail!
The summary of this book reminds me so much of the " Shadow Falls Camp " books by C. C. Hunter and i just loved that series, so I think that " Blythewood " will be great too!
